Now we're raising $230,000 to equip the NICU with advanced aEEG brain monitoring technology that helps detect silent seizures in newborn babies.
NYC Marathon 2026
In 2026, Billie's Besties is embarking on our most ambitious fundraising mission yet—funding life-saving neonatal equipment that gives vulnerable babies the best possible start in life.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we've already fully funded a new therapeutic cooling system for the NICU. Together, we've achieved something truly extraordinary.
With the therapeutic cooling system now fully funded, our attention has turned to another urgent need identified by the neonatal team.
Now, we're setting our sights on advanced amplitude-integrated EEG (aEEG) monitors, with a fundraising goal of $230,000.
aEEG monitors use small sensors placed on a baby's scalp to continuously monitor brain activity. This is vital because many newborn seizures have no visible signs. By detecting changes in real time, doctors and nurses can identify seizures within minutes rather than hours, allowing treatment to begin sooner and helping protect vulnerable babies from further brain injury.
To reach our goal, we'll continue bringing our community together through events, partnerships, merchandise, fundraising initiatives and our biggest challenge yet—the New York City Marathon.
This isn't just about equipment.
It's about giving more babies the best possible chance.
